I'm fairly new to Maximo. I work mainly work in Work Order Tracking and Preventive Maintenance. My question is: How is it possible on a work order to have a Target Start date precedd the Report Date? For example:

Target Start: 7/26/10 12:00
Report Date:  7/27/10 12:00

Shouldn't this be the  other way around? Does it have to do with the way I'm scheduling the PM?

Thank you. And please let me know if you need any more clarification from me.

I have worked for several energy companies that have completed work out in the field and then created the work order in maximo after the fact. A good example may be for a weekend crew who repaired a valve. The work was done over the weekend and then reported on Monday.  Depending on how your system is set up you can schedule and complete work in the past, but you can not complete or close work in the future

Hi,

the target start date can be maually created in the workorder application, but when you use the PM application the reported date is when Maximo creates the PM and the target date is when the PPM is scheduled.

hope this helps
