Receiving Items having IAS

Maximo 7.x Receiving - Current functionality only supports Asset numbering (tagging) for the Item having "Item Assembly Structure". It does ask to number all rotating items in the hierrachy, but the inventory balance and transactions do not seem happening for the children items (some rotating, others non-rotating). Looks like functionality never addressed/thought through....Anyone ever tried? An example: Ordering complex asset assemblies as bundles....Maximo boasts a lot, but delivers only so much...
