We are just starting to use maximo and I am building my job plans. I put in a task as a header and then I want to use the long description to add my detail because I have some very technical jobs to be done. How do I get the long description to print out on a work order?

Your report is only designed to print the short description. You need to re-design it so that it will print the long description.

Its not so easy.. First you need to have some report generation tool like erdPro in which you can edit the report. I believe it itself is a licenses software... Then you will need to the edit the query and then place the GUI control over the report and format it accordingly..
A better solution is the redesign your description field and increase its length so it accomodates the huge data and no longer use the long description.
