Do I have to create a PM for each asset?  It seems that items and routes are the options available to avoid this.  Can someone tell me the best way to create 50 identical PM's for different assets?  I put multiple assets on the job plan but the PM is forcing me to specify a single asset, they are not transferring to the PM, only the tasks are.

Yes, you need a PM for each asset.

You can do this in a batch using the asset template workspace to apply a new PM on multiple assets. The PM ID will be in a generic numeric sequence though.

If you want you PM ID's to be uniform with a prefix or something of that nature, you can use the copy PM feature in the PM work space action menu and just change the asset number with each copy.

For mass changes to PM job plans, frequencies, alerts, etc. be sure to have a Master PM. The master updates all PM's assosiated with changes when desired.

Thank you.  Can I add 50 assets to a route, choose for the route stops to be "child work orders" instead of "Entries in the Work Order's Multi Asset, Location and CI Table", make a Master PM with a job plan, and then make one PM and let that single PM create 49 children?
