Hi guys,

I'd like to approve invoice, but the error displays "BMXAA1974E - Cannot approve invoice because of unexpected error. Please send the server's stack trace log to support"

What does it mean?

How to solve this problem?

any suggestions and comments will greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

Regards,

Tommy

How did you resolve this issue?  We just upgraded to Maximo 7.5 and are having the same problem in both our dev and production environment.  IBM Support has not been able to determine what's going on.  I suspect there is a setting that changed between 7.1 and 7.5, but I haven't been able to find out what yet.  I would appreciate any suggestions.

Figured this out today!  You need to set up Financial Periods in order to approve invoices.  Go to the Financial application and select Chart of Accounts.  Select Action Financial Periods.  Create a financial period for each year – For example, the financial period called 2011 should have a start date of 1/1/11 12:00 AM and an ending date of 12/31/11 11:59 PM.  The closing dates can be left blank until the financial period is closed.  Once these were set, the status of invoices could be changed to Approved.

There was nothing in the log files to indicate that this was the problem.  The error message is completely obscure.  If the error message had been something like "Cannot approve invoice because financial period is missing," we could have resolved this issue a long time ago.
