My organization is having Maximo 7.1 deployed with Oracle.  We'll have modified- and cloaned- applications with both new and reused/renamed fields.  My questions, for now, are centered on the existance and use of a data dictionary.
Does Maximo ("out of the box") offer a data dictionary that can readily be queried by a non developer?  Is this something that is generally presented to the Maximo client at or before deployment?  With previous non-Maximo, ground-up systems that I've worked on, the data dictionary was certianly useful to the organization's helpdesk staff.  I am proposing that any new or renamed data elements be defined, at a minimum, to the extent that any existing standard Maximo data dictionary would define its entries.

If anyone has access to such a "standard" Maximo data dictionary, I'd be interested in knowing the format for entries that define data elements that appear on the Maximo screens. One particular example would help alot - the data element, Job Plan.  It appears on the Work Order tab of the Work Order Tracking application.

Any insight is greatly appreciated,
