Hello,
Im very new to Maximo. Im trying to transfer

1. A purchase request from Maximo 7 to Oracle DB
2. Purchase order along with the status from Oracle DB to Maximo.

I know this a very basic question, pls provide me the solution as soon as possible bcos its a production issue.

They say Cron task can be used for this, please guide me.

Thanks in advance

either a cron task or integration framework can be used for the purpose...(Internally integration also use predefined cron task)
Cron task a batch process that runs periodically and executes a class that extends simplecrontask or maybe simplecron..

A cron task example can be seen in PMWOCronTask cron task..

I will say integration would be much more efficient.

Hi,

to setup a Crontask you need to have permission to the System Configuration application which you would then select 'Platform Configuration' - 'Crontask setup' if i remenber right to get Maximo to talk to Oracle you will need to use the Maximo Enterprise Adaptor (MEA).

what you could do for now is setup an 'Escalation' for the inventory application which could be setup for every 1 hour to check your inventory and any thing that has a reorder point reached it would then send an email to who every raises the Purchase order within Oracle with all the relevant information use the attached 'communication template'

hope this makes sense?

regards
