Version 6.2, have question about account set up and asset location.
Our assets are assigned to a shop location. However, when a certain PM is performed it is done at a different location. All the PM’s generate with the asset in the work order location field. The people here have been changing that location to catch cost to the other location.
There must be a way to do this through the PM set up, or employee labor accounting?? No??

when I generate a PM work order for an asset, what is best method to capture cost at the physical location or shop that is performing the PM work?

that simple huh? so these guys have been manually changing work order locations and a GL could have been set up on the PM itself? Gonna go check this out now, thanks again.

guess I was wrong.. That only works when you dont specify a different asset or location...
location/asset gl account gets higher priority while generating a PM.

Yeah correct, just tried it and the asset location populates work location. The work location GL account trumps the PM GL....any other ideas?

It worked, didnt update older work orders but new ones generated today have the PM GL on the WO instead of the asset GL
