We are developing an asset management system which needs to collaborate with MAXIMO which is another asset mgmt software for a client.
My question:
- In what forms can we get data out of MAXIMO? Can it give outputs in Excel format or how else?

Ur inputs and time are much appreciated.

I am still confused..
What do you mean by reporting data..
Are you looking for integration between the two systems..
that two systems should be able to exchange the data...

if Yes Maximo 6 uses MEA and Maximo 7 uses MIF using which integration can be acheived using contineous queue or sequential queue...

Background - We are planning to design a SharePoint application which will offer Asset Management to a client. The client uses MAXIMO for some of its other/older operations. We need to get data from MAXIMO and use this data along with the data in SharePoint to analyze and generate reports for business decisions.

Data from an Excel sheet can be fed into SharePoint directly (without any coding). I am interested to know if I can get data churned out of MAXIMO in the form of excel so that I can use it in SharePoint.

well maximo is just an application having data and front end application..
you can get data from database directly..

From Maximo integration you can have data by the means of flat files, xmls, integration tables..

apart from that directly connect to maximo database like a regular sql database and get ur data..
