After defining 1665 locations, no new location can be defined any more. Though the location id to be defined is absent in the location table and also in the asset, still an error message is being displayed on an attempt to define and save it , which says:

Database error number 1 has occurred when operating on LOCSTATUS LOCSTATUSID=1,084.
ORA-00001: unique constraint (MAXIMO.LOCSTATUS_NDX) violated

Please tell me why is this problem occurring and the solution?  Huh

LOCSTATUS.NDX is an index on the LOCSTATUS table. This index forces the values in the LOCSTATUSID column in the LOCSTATUS table to be unique.

So Maximo tries to insert a row in the LOCSTATUS table with LOCSTATUSID 1084, but this value already exists in the table.

I cant tell why this has happened. Maybe you could check out the row in the table with LOCSTATUSID=1084 and see if its safe to delete the row.
