Back again with one more problem definition:-)

1.I want a field to be populated with 3 default values for 3 different sites.

As per my understanding, this can be achieved through customization but is it possible to do it using configuration.
I would like to let you know that i have tried using signature option with properties like-text,values,dynamictext but nothing seems to work.
Can this be achieved through free text or Domain.

if a field is associated with a valuelist how can we make available one of the values as a default value through configuration.for example i configure a Status field which has 3 values (ALN Domain) Active, Inactive and Disabled. If i want Active to be the Default value how do i do it.

Please provide me with some ideas to go forward with it.

In the database configuration you can define the default value.

there was something as dynamic default value that was dependent on condition.. It was supposed to be in the property of the attirbute.... there was no class to be written for it..
will check it and let you know.

There is a table in the databse called APPFIELDDEFAULTS. Try to insert the default value for the attribute for the different sites in this table. One insert for each site. May require a restart of the application server in order to work.
