A colleague told me about this one the other day.

An interesting little trick is to paste one of the following scripts into the URL or your browser whiulst in a Maximo application.

javascript:eval(document.getElementById('debug_eventwindow').style.visibility='');

javascript:eval(document.getElementById('commframe').style.display='');

I'm not sure which way around it is but one works for the list screen of the application and the other works for the details screen. When you paste these codes (paste over the URL) a little panel appears on the screen. This panel shows all the information that is passed from the client to the server. One of the fields is a method or event that gets called. It can help with debugging.

You can do something similar simply setting the Debug value of the presentation to a number (the higher is the number, the more detailed are the informations I think) in the Application Designer.

You have to use the "Toggle Show All Controls" to show the "presentation" item.
Now in the properties of the presentation you can set the value of "Debug" [there is no help  Sad]

Save and go to the application and the windows appears ......

Until now I didn't use it, but I thik it could be useful or at least funny to know !

That's interesting you say that because the trick that I posted came from a colleague who had just been on the Maximo consultants course!! The instructor obviously doesn't know about your method.

Lol, good to know.....

I think that there are a lot of funny things that teachers dont't know/teach..... but also consultants don't know.

It happened to me on the first Maximo (v4.1.1) implementation with a workflow implementation. We solved a particular situation with an un-known (by the consultant) configuration.........

Sometime only the programmer know what the software do (looking at the source code !).
